I echo what others have said on here. Is it square. Can someone please take the default picture of of theirs and measure it for me. Thank you so much.BTW she says she loves the mug. I have purchased this travel for my girlfriend and I'd like to know the maximum picture size that can be inserted into the mug. She lives in another state, so I don't have access to hers. Or tapered at one end to contour the shape of the mug.
It is clearly a value item and not very high quality. As others have noted some coffee grounds can get past the filter, but that was very limited and within the acceptable range for me. This product does pretty much what it is supposed to do. I got it for limited use, and that has worked well.
You can not get 16 oz. is good for you, then just ignore some of the foolish reviews because you will love it. if filled to within 1 inch from the top. one and you only can get about 8 oz.
there is nothing to break while pushing the press down as some have claimed on different mugs (made the same, but not with the picture insert). I have not had any problem getting grinds in my coffee, maybe because i have the sense not to fill it up too much. The cup is obviously concave in shape, a little larger at the top than the bottom, i fill mine up to about an inch from the top, as the instructions also say. There is not any problem at all with the seal.As far as adding stuff to your coffee. into the cup if you have coffee in it. That burns me up since i absolutely LOVE it.Now the one thing that BODUM should be ashamed of is calling it a 16 OUNCE coffee press. I have a 12 oz. It should not be too difficult for BODUM to measure a small amount of liquid.
Some people have whined about the top not sealing properly. of coffee from it. Simply mix it with the coffee grinds that you add and stir and then wait about 3-4 minutes to press the screen down. The screen is then in full contact with the insides of the cup.
God only knows what some people have done. Some people can not figure that rocket science out.The reason i have written this review is because if i had not of had a smaller press like this one then i would have never bought this after reading what some people have written about this press. So this is just a down right lie own their part. You will have 12. Which is why i ordered this one.If 12 oz.
This product has been great. It does exactly what it is supposed to do. ozs.
Good design and materials, works well, one gripe: not anywhere close to secure; tip it and it leaks - the seal around the drinking hole doesn't close securely enough. However, perfect for use at work, and this way I can drink loose leaf tea on camping trips much more easily.
Keeps the grounds out and the extra coffee hot. Not so. Especially if you are partial to pressed coffee. I keep one of these at work and I make the coffee in it and then pour it through a tea strainer into my mug. They have had daily use for a month and still in like new shape. The one downside is adding cream and sugar to the travel mug. You can add syrup to the grounds first as well.
I tried adding powdered creamer and sugar to the coffee grounds before brewing; worked fine. Didn't make any difference in the pressing or the taste. You do get a few grounds, but that's true with just about any press. It's made of mostly plastic so I thought the first time I poured boiling water in it it would crack. I have two of these, this one and the one with the insulated rubber ring. It helps if you wait a few minutes after pressing to take your first sip.
Once the coffee is made you have to add it through the drinking opening. Great little mug for coffee on the go. This press works pretty well. Both cups are insulated and will keep coffee hot for an hour or so. Tricky, especially for sugar and powdered creamer.
